Three boxcars of salt from upstate New York sit in front of SALCO on the East Rail 2 layout. Salt is generally shipped in the rattiest, most battered cars imaginable. I’ve noticed that SALCO generally gets more incoming cars than they have bays available to offload them. This means a few cars need to be placed “offspot” until space becomes available. The local will then come in on another day to spot them once a bay frees up. This is a very common, plausible car move that would be fun to incorporate into an op. session.
Another stunning photo of amazing modeling. Fabulous patch-outs and weathering make the box cars look so real.
